STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste.. Genevieve Alderman Sam Hughey has spearheaded an initiative to beautify the ferry landing area at what many know as Memorial Rock.
Over time, Memorial Rock has become a kind of living shrine—where visitors pause to pay their respects to those who have lost their lives to the Mighty Mississippi.
In recognition of that meaning, we’ll be holding the Blessing of Memorial Rock, with Father Burkemper of Ste. Geneviève Catholic Church offering a formal blessing of this hallowed ground. Barbara Fitzgerald will also share a short speech.
