Betty Sue Black, 87, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at her residence.
She was born January 22, 1939 in Tallapoosa, MO to Raymond and Mabel (Schneider) Ates.
Betty and Ronald Black were married on June 16, 1956 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death.
She worked as a cashier for Walmart. Betty enjoyed baking and growing flowers.
Survivors include daughter, Cathleen Keeton; son, Michael (Robbie) Black; sister, Bobbie Akers; sister-in-law, Donna Ates; seven grandchildren, Bonnie, Tommy, Jamie, Phillip, Tiffany, Stephen, Hannah and several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Black; son, Stephen Black; brother, Doyle Ates.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue from 8:00 am to 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Rev. Michael Friesz officiating.
Burial will be at York Chapel Cemetery in Longtown.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Children’s St. Louis.
