Audrey L. Kieffer

A funeral will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 for 94-year-old Audrey L. Kieffer of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 1:11 pm, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Oak Hill in Waterloo, Illinois.

 

She was born January 8, 1931 in Prairie du Rocher, Illinois. to Eli “Lee” and Barbara (nee Okenfuss) Aubuchon who both preceded her in death.

 

She is survived by two children: Alan Kieffer of Red Bud, Ill. and Shelley (Paul) Joyce of Red Bud, Ill.; three grandchildren: Wendy (Robby) Cathell, Todd (Michele) Grohmann, and Tyson (Lindy) Grohmann; five great grandsons: Dylan and Logan Cathell, and Blake, Drew and Chase Grohmann;

an adopted great grandson: Devin Hall; many nieces; nephews; cousins, and friend.

 

She was also preceded in death by seven siblings: Evelyn Aubuchon, Kathryn Laurent Clerc, Lee (Irene) Aubuchon, Jacqueline (Oliver) Prange, Oliver (Dorothy) Aubuchon, Urban (Geraldine) Aubuchon, and Max Aubuchon.

 

Audrey had worked for 10 years at St. Clement’s Hospital in Red Bud, over 20 years for Dr. W. Sam Williams, D.D.S., Wagner Convenience Store, and finally worked at First Bank of Red Bud until her retirement.

 

Audrey was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois, American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 622, and served as past president, Randolph County Auxiliary, and Parents without Partners, and held various offices.

 

Audrey enjoyed quilting and was a member of the quilting group at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved going to all her great-grandsons ‘ extracurricular activities.

 

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, September 12. 2025 at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Red Bud, Illinois and 8-10 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud, Illinois.

 

A funeral mass for 94-year-old Audrey L. Kieffer of Red Bud, Illinois, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud, Illinois. Fr. Iuvenius Iheme

and Msgr. Dennis Schaefer will co-officiate.

 

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Prairie du Rocher, Illinois.

 

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
