Arnold “Arnie” Otto Oswald, 77, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Independence Care Center in Perryville, MO.
He was born February 26, 1946 in Perry County, MO to Leo and Hilda (Moeckel) Oswald.
He and Sharon Kay Esselman were married on October 5, 1967. She survives in Perryville, MO.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. He was the Owner/Operator of S & A Remodeling Company. He loved fishing, and four wheeling. He would leed the side by side rides where he earned the name “Captain.”
Survivors include son, Jeff Oswald in Chester, IL, daughter, Dana (Jason) Schmelzle of Ste. Genenvieve, MO; sister, Wilma Esselman of Perryville, MO, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mark Oswald; four brothers, Herman, Ben, Ruben and Alfred Oswald; two sisters, Norma McIntyre and Olga Oswald.
Visitation will be from 8:30 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Memorial Service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.
Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
