Arlin Lloyd Hadler, 82, of Perryville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, in Perryville.
He was born August 24, 1943, in Menfro, Missouri, to Henry Paul and Erna Anita (Schuessler) Hadler. He was the youngest of the seven Hadler Brothers from Crosstown.
Arlin married Sharon Hager on June 6, 1964, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Crosstown, Missouri. Their 62 years of marriage were filled with love, devotion to family, and countless miles traveled together. Through every season of life, Arlin was a steady provider, devoted husband, and loving father whose family was always at the center of his life.
After retiring from a 36-year career at the Chrysler Assembly Plant, he turned to Sharon and said, “‘es go!” Together they embarked on the next chapter of life, driving tens of thousands of miles across the country. Few things brought him more joy than a Rand McNally atlas and driving west with Sharon by his side.
Arlin and Sharon devoted much of their retirement to serving through Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief. Combining his love for travel, his desire to help others, and his famous Stihl chainsaw, Arlin ministered to hundreds of families affected by natural disasters. Whether clearing fallen trees, helping rebuild homes, or simply offering a helping hand, he quietly served wherever he was needed.
A man of few words, Arlin preferred to let his actions speak for him. He earned the respect and admiration of everyone who knew him through his dependability, humility, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others. What began as volunteer work grew into a calling. He became a trusted team leader within Disaster Relief, and the men and women he served alongside became a second family.
Arlin built their home in Crosstown, Missouri. Though this home would serve as the foundational homebase for his family, Arlin was always drawn to the mountains “Out West”. He never passed up a chance to drive down an unmarked dirt road with the hope of being rewarded with a beautiful view and a story worth sharing. He enjoyed finding places that didn’t make it into the guidebooks, but what he really loved was seeing what waited at the end of a long road. Yet his travels never pulled him away from what mattered most. He shared that appreciation for God’s creation, along with his values of hard work, service, and devotion to family, with the generations who followed him.
Arlin’s legacy extends far beyond the life he built or the miles he traveled. It lives on in the family he loved, the people he served, the traditions he helped create, and the values he quietly passed from one generation to the next. Through his example of faith, humility, hard work, and love, he leaves an inheritance that cannot be measured and will not be forgotten.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dwayne (Angie) Hadler, Darryl (Michelle) Hadler; two daughters, Debbie (Greg) Statler, Sara (Chuck) Smiarowski; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah), Tanner (Tessa), Paige, Caleb (Kayla), Ethan (Lily), Eric, Caden, Piper, Jack; five great-grandchildren, Harper, Berkley, Riley, Conway, Corsen.
