Alpha Delta Kappa, Beta Lambda Chapter news

PERRYVILLE — The August 12, 2025 meeting was called to Order – 4:31 PM by President Glenda Gremaud.  The theme for the Year: Moving Forward and the theme for the month of August is: Move Forward in Positivity.  After the Pledge of Allegiance, Lucas Fritsche and his mother Jennifer were presented with $271 from our monthly collections last year for Lucas’ Playground.  The money will go to communication boards for the playground.

Olivia Carter and Halley Russell installed as recording and corresponding secretaries.  The executive board served as hostesses and Joanie Edmundson, Stacey Littleton and Robyn Lukefahr provided hospitality.

Chaplain Glenda Mueller read the devotional “Summer Memories.”

Correspondence Secretary Halley Russell shared Janice Dickinson has requested the opportunity to maintain membership in ADK but has asked to move away from leadership. Brenda Smith has requested to be placed on active on leave due to family health concerns.

The Program Committee reported the altruistic project will be Sleep In Heavenly Peace, and representatives will be here in the September meeting to share more about the program.  Altruistic Tuesday events include October 7, 2025 – Ice Cream Social at 1 PM at Independence Care Center,  October 21, 2025 – Veteran’s Breakfast 6:00 and  Beef O’Brady’s Give Back Night and October 28, 2025 – Senior Center Bingo at 10 AM.

The evening’s program was Candy Mueller’s budget report and discussion of the program book for the year.  President Glenda discussed ADK Bucks as outlined by the Ways and Means Committee.   Any dollar you bring in with an A, D, or K, you get a raffle ticket for reimbursement for dinner, room rental, or international dues. There will be one winner drawn in May for each category, and they will receive reimbursement at that time.

 Julie Robles sent the Bake Sale sign up sheet around. Bake Sale will be September 6, 2025. Set-up from 7:00-7:30. Each member contributes 2-3 homemade items.

Recognitions since the May meeting included the Retirement of Janice Guebert and Candy Mueller.  Glenda Gremaud was recognized as a Violet Sister in Alpha Delta Kappa.

Debra Cobb’s roll call question was What was the best book you read this summer?

Sisters with Birthdays were recognized and included:  Hayley Kasten, Carolyn Schmidt, Janice Guebert, Dolores Conrad, Michelle House, Lisa Vinton-Rush  and Laura Ernst.  The raffle winner was Jayne Bohnert and the next meeting is September 9, 2025.
