Alfred “Garry” Bruckerhoff, 78, of Perryville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on July, 17, 2026.
Born on March 12, 1948 in Perry County, Missouri, Garry was the son of the late Alfred G. and Mary F. (Layton) Bruckerhoff. He is survived by his brother, Ronnie Bruckerhoff.
Garry also shared a special bond with two cousins who were like brothers to him, Jimmy “Trapper” Bruckerhoff and the late Clyde Bruckerhoff. He loved them dearly and often shared stories of the adventures and memories they made together growing up. Those stories reflected the deep love he had for his family and the joy he found in remembering happier times.
A proud veteran, Garry honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from September 1969 until June 1972 with the 334th Squadron. During his military service, he worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, a role he carried out with dedication and pride.
One of Garry’s greatest passions was his lifelong commitment to the Moolah Temple Shriners in St. Louis, Missouri. He became a member in 1978 and remained an active and devoted Shriner for the rest of his life. He was also a proud member of the ECMO Shrine Club, where he built lasting friendships and dedicated countless hours to supporting the organization’s mission.
Garry spent much of his career behind the wheel, a profession he truly enjoyed. In his younger years, he drove for Coca-Cola USA before spending many years as an over-the-road truck driver with Gilster-Mary Lee. He took great pride in the many miles he traveled and the hard work that defined his career. His strong work ethic, independence, and love of the open road were qualities that those who knew him admired.
Garry will be remembered for his love of family, his pride in serving his country, his unwavering dedication to the Shriners, and the countless stories he loved to tell. His kindness, sense of humor, and loyal friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
