Ste. Genevieve County local government town hall slated

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve County Commission is announcing the second annual Local Government Town hall to be held July 25, 2024 in the Progress Sports Complex located at 1300 Progress Parkway in Ste. Genevieve.

 

Doors will open at 6 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., Master of Ceremonies Mark Marberry will begin with brief remarks and introduce the panelists that are scheduled to speak. The first speaker will be city of Ste. Genevieve Mayor Brian Keim followed by Associate Commissioner Second District Mark Marberry and Associate Commissioner First District Karen Stuppy. Presiding Commissioner Randy Ruzicka will round out the local leader segment of the meeting.

 

State Representative Rick Francis will then speak about this year’s session in the House Chamber with State Senator Elaine Gannon finishing out the speaking segment with her remarks about the Senate Chamber’s legislation for this year.

 

After a brief break, the floor will be opened to the public for a question and answer session for any of the panelists. The commission asks that members of the public refrain from making remarks during the speaking segment. During the question and answer segment, the commission asks that speakers be courteous and limit the amount of questions being asked in order for other members of the public be allowed a chance to speak.

 

As this event is an attempt at local leaders meeting and interacting with the public and providing information, the town hall is open and welcome to any member of the public. With 2024 being an election year, candidates for office that are in attendance will be recognized. However, this is not a political event and the candidates will not be speaking.
