This hands-on workshop will include a demonstration on the proper way to pressure can vegetables and each participant will take home a jar of their own.

“In addition to basic procedures and steps to safe canning, we will share solutions to common canning and freezing problems, and answer the most frequently asked questions,” explains Bethany Bachmann, University of Missouri Extension Specialist.  A packet of USDA recommended procedures and recipes will be provided to each participant.

This program will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Perryville Methodist Church. The cost for the program is $25. Registration deadline is May 24.  Interested individuals can register by calling the Perry County Extension Office at 573-547-4504.
