Caitlin Gray named May Elks Student of the Month

STE. GENEVIEVE – Caitlin Gray has been named the Elks Student of the Month for May from Ste. Genevieve High School.

 

 

Caitlin is the daughter of Kathryn Yex and Brian Gray.

Caitlin’s scholastic honors include: being in the Top 10 Percent of her class for four years, being ranked 9th out of 114 in her senior class, being awarded Magna Cum Laude both her junior and senior years, and being awarded Summa Cum Laude her sophomore year. Caitlin has won numerous class awards, including: Integrated Biology, Spanish 2, and College Algebra and Applications.

She has also been involved in a number of clubs and organizations, including serving as: a leader and member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club for three years; a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) for two years, for which she served as the Service Coordinator for one year; and a freshmen Mentor for one year. Caitlin also participated in the A+ program for four years and utilized her A+ hours her senior year working as an intern with the Ste. Genevieve Veterinary Clinic.

Caitlin was a member of the cheerleading team her sophomore and junior years and was elected Co-Cheer Captain her junior year. She was also awarded the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association Award both years and earned the “Miss Cheerleader” award her junior year.

Caitlin has been employed as a lifeguard for three years at the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center and River Rapids Waterpark, and she plans to be a safety manager at the waterpark this summer. She also operates her own baking business called “Caitlin’s Cookies & Confections,” which she launched four years ago. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys baking, volunteering at her church where she sings in the worship band and teaches the kids Bible lessons, and spending time with family and friends.

Caitlin plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia and major in Animal Science. After earning her Bachelors of Science degree, she hopes to be accepted into the Veterinary Program and work to earn her doctorate’s degree in Veterinary Medicine.
