STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve city sales tax receipts are in for April and they show an increase in the month to month and year-to-date.
The city’s one percent general sales tax brought in $70,262.46 in April, a $5,418.06 increase over the same month last year. That’s a 7.7 percent increase over the sales tax received in April 2023.
So far this year, the general sales tax has brought in $281,245.03, an increase of $39,053.16. That’s a 13.8 percent increase over the first four months of 2023.
Sales tax receipts for the other two sales taxes: capital improvements and mass transportation showed similar percentage increases.
The city’s consolidated use tax brought in $14,878.08 in April, an increase of $516.48 over April 2023.
So far this year, the use tax has brought in $199,537.44 which is $129,417.33 over the first four months of 2023.
