Bounliem Mahathath

Bounliem Mahathath, 77, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 at his residence.

He was born June 2, 1946 in Thakek, Laos to Ta Anthony and Mack (Muongsaveng) Mahathath.

He married Simmaly Peth, also from Laos. She survives him in Perryville.

Bounliem was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. He worked as a game warden for the conservation and as a groundskeeper for The Association of the Miraculous Medal for 25 years before retiring in 2011. Bounliem enjoyed gardening, with a spectacular green thumb, fishing, hunting, gambling “computer class”, reading, writing, word searches and watching Wheel of Fortune. Most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. Bounliem was a proud USA citizen.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Phoneoudom Mahathath, Phommachanh (Michele) Mahathath, Phanthaboun Mahathath, Paramy (Fiancee Patty Rowe) Mahathath; two Daughters, Pattany (Terry) Nations, Simsouda Mahathath; Fifteen grandchildren, Marinna Mahathath, Marcas Mahathath, Dominic Mahathath, Jade Mahathath, Jasmyn Mahathath, Angel Mahathath, Asia Mahathath, Tanner Mahathath, Taleah Mahathath, Tayliahna Mahathath, Jordan Mahathath, Alyssa Mahathath, Sybella Nations, Sybina Nations, Liem Nations; two sisters, Niem Mahathath, Muongkhoune Nudd; brother-in-law, Barry Nudd; and his adopted American sons, Chuck and Kim Pfaff, Chris Dobbelare.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Phounesavath Mahathath; grandchild, Alysa Mahathath; two brothers, Khamkhien Mahathath, Sivilay Mahathath.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Saturday, May 11, 2024 at St. Marys of the Barrens Church in Perryville with Rev. Clay Kilburn C.M. officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

Memorial contributions may be given to National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.
