Bloomsdale boy seriously injured in traffic crash on Highway 61

JEFFERSON CITY — A 16-year-old Bloomsdale boy was seriously injured in a traffic crash on Highway 61 in Ste. Genevieve County Saturday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the youth, whose name was not disclosed, was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital by a Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance.

The patrol says the teenager was the driver of a northbound 2023 Can-Am Side by Side which crossed the centerline of the highway and collided with the left front of a northbound 1999 Dodge Ram driven by 79-year-old Seth L. Underwood of Fredericktown who was not hurt. The patrol says neither driver was using safety devices.
