STE. GENEVIEVE – Next month, the Foundation for Restoration will host a book signing for Valerie Battle Kienzle who has written Ste. Genevieve, Missouri A Walk Through History.
She will be part of the Foundation Spring meeting on April 21 beginning at 2 p.m. in the garden of the Guibourd Valle House.
The Foundation Spring meeting is a members and guests event. Non members are encouraged to com and join the Foundation for a modest membership fee. Founded in 1967 the Foundation for Restoration is charged with preserving and promoting the history, culture and treasures of Ste. Genevieve.
Other events sponsored by the Foundation are the King’s Ball, French Heritage Festival, Spirit Reunion, house tours and a history conference. This organization also funds a grant for historic research and a scholarship for a student of historic preservation and related subjects.
The Foundation owns and maintains the Guibourd Valle house as a museum and the Mecker Research Library on Second Street in Ste. Genevieve.
