ROLLA —Two wildfires, each in a separate area of the Forest are currently being responded to be Mark Twain National Forest personnel.
The Beason Hollow Fire is located approximately 15 miles southwest of Salem and is expected to reach about 650 acres in size by the end of Wednesday.
The Barn Log is located approximately 10 miles south of Winona and was expected to reach about 400 acres by nightfall Wednesday.
Progress toward containment is going well on each of the fires.
People may encounter smoke near these fires, or in areas where the wind moves the smoke. If you do encounter smokey conditions, or see firefighting vehicles, please drive using extra caution and have your headlights on.
Firefighters’ vehicles are often parked along the side of the narrow roads in the areas where the fire is located.
