ROLLA – As of Thursday morning, the Beason Hollow Fire and the Barn Log fires have been contained and are now being monitored by firefighters on the ground. Some smoke from the interior of the fires’ footprint may be visible today, but conditions are favorable to maintain containment and reinforce the lines around the fires.
The Beason Fire as seen from the Czar Lookout Tower around 2 p.m. yesterday (taken by Ron Moon, Forest Service).
As weather has shifted, some firefighters will be shifting from wildfire response to prescribed burning.
The Forest only has one prescribed burn planned for today, and it will be about five miles east of where the Barn Log fire occurred. More information will be posted to the Forest’s FB page.
