A funeral will be held Friday for 79-year-old Thurman Michael “Mike” Blyzes of Friedheim, Missouri who passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his residence.
He was born August 20, 1953 in St. Louis City, Mo. a son of Thurman E. and Mandy (Hammontree) Blyzes who both preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons: Thurman “Adam” Blyzes, and Curtis (Salena) Blyzes; a brother: William T. (Donna) Blyzes; a sister: Mary Belle Wright; and three grandchildren: Avery, Christian and Alivia Blyzes.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Orville Ray Blyzes.
Thurman was a retired Locomotive Engineer for BNSF Railroad.
He loved hot rodding whatever vehicles he had. He loved Corvettes, boats and tractors.
He loved spending time with his grandkids.
Thurman was very kind and loved helping others.
He was also a great story teller.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024 and 8-10 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral for 79-year-old Thurman Michael “Mike” Blyzes of Friedheim will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with the Rev. Brandon Tanksley officiating.
Burial will be at Dogwood Cemetery in East Prairie.
