CHESTER – Chester lost to Gibault 47-40 in the semifinal game of the Chester Invitational Tournament. The Chester JV fell to New Athens 50-31 in the consolation semifinal.
Chester plays at New Athens Tuesday at 7:30.
STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve plays Park Hills Central tonight, junior varsity at 6 and varsity at 7:30.
PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent hosts Oran tonight, junior varsity at 6 and the varsity at 7 p.m.
PERRYVILLE = Perryville hosts Windsor Thursday at 7 p.m.
Girls Basketball
STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve won at Potosi 57-47.
The Dragons play at Valle at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle defeats Lesterville with Ellington (they’re co-oping this year) 51-30.
Valle was led in scoring by Ade Weiler with 13 points, Madelyn Griffard had 12, and Brooklyn Weibrecht added 11.
The Lady Warriors improve their record to 11-4.
Valle plays at Arcadia Valley tonight at 7:30 p.m.
PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent was scheduled to play Grandview, but the score was not reported.
The Lady Indians host Chaffee Monday at 7:30.
PERRYVILLE – The Perryville Lady Pirates beat Jefferson R7 52-38 last night to improve their record to 9-4 on the season.
The Lady Pirates are back in action on Tuesday at home vs. Bismarck.
Wrestling
STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve wrestles at the Willard Wrestling Tournament today and tomorrow.The girls wrestle today and boys tomorrow.
Both the Ste. Genevieve boys and girls will wrestle at Cape Central Monday.
STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle plays Jennings at Fort Zumwalt East Wednesday.
Mayor’s Cup Preview
PERRYVILLE – The Perryville Pirates and St. Vincent Indians will come together on Saturday, Jan. 27 for the Mayor’s Cup Tournament, the annual showcase of hometown basketball talent. The event begins at noon at Perry Park Center with the junior varsity girls’ game and culminates with the varsity boys’ game. This event is open to the public. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
The schedule includes:
12 pm – JV Girls basketball game
1:30 pm – JV Boys basketball game
3 pm – Varsity Girls basketball game
4:30pm – Varsity Boys basketball game
The PHS Choir will sing the National Anthem before the Varsity Girls game, and the SVHS Choir will perform the National Anthem prior to the Varsity Boys game.
The PHS Cheerleaders will perform during halftime of the Varsity Girls game, and the SVHS Cheerleaders will perform during halftime of the Varsity Boys game.
The PHS Student Section will be in the bleachers directly across from their bench, near the garage door.
The SVHS Student Section will be in the bleacher directly behind their bench, to the left of the scorer’s table.
