A funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 6, 2023 for 93-year-old Arnold R. Mudd of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away peacefully at his residence at 6:56 a.m., Sunday, December 31, 2023.
He was born Februarty 20,1930 in Modoc, Ill. son of Joseph Arnold and Catherine (nee Bessen) Mudd who both preceded him in death.
He married Patricia (nee Szczerbik) Combs August 26, 1989 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud, Illinois; she survives.
He had worked various trades during his life.
Arnold was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Knight of Columbus,
American Legion and V.F.W. He was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran.
Arnold loved working in the yard, gardening, and playing many sports with family and friends.
He loved singing and brought a smile to everyone he met.
He is also survived by four children: Terry Mudd, Angela (John) Hennekes, Sally Vocke
Lucy (Mike) Hollman; several step children; four siblings: Jean (LeRoy) Buskirk, Katherine (Glen) Schoeneberger, Vi (Ray) Meyer and Merle (Pat) Mudd; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by seven brothers: Robert, Percy, Melvin, Marvin, Francis, Floyd, and Orville Mudd.
A funeral mass for 93-year-old Arnold R. Mudd of Red Bud will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois. Fr. Carl Scherrer will officiate.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud, Illinois and 10 – 11 a.m.
Saturday at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois.
Interment will be in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Ruma, Illinois.
