COVID-19 cases rise in Perry, Ste. Gen Counties and statewide

JEFFERSON CITY — The number of COVID-19 cases in Missouri continues to rise as the seven day total of confirmed and probable cases was 18,840 for the week ending December 5th.

That’s an increase of nearly 1,692 or a 10 percent since the report for the week ending December 2.

The number of confirmed and probable deaths was 17.

The average number of confirmed and probable cases per day was nearly 2,691 up about 241 or an increase of 10 percent.

The vaccination rate in Missouri is 52.1 percent for those who have completed the vaccination series.

There were 49 confirmed and probable cases in Perry County for the seven days ending December 5, 10 percent increase in total cases since the previous report on December 2. That’s a daily average of seven new cases a day which is up from 5.6 cases per day in the previous report.

There were no deaths during the period.

The vaccination rate in Perry County is 38.4 percent.

There were 46 confirmed and probable cases in Ste. Genevieveve County for the same period, up 130 percent. The daily average of cases in Ste. Genevieve County 6.6, compared to three new cases a day in the previous report.

There were no deaths during the period.

The vaccination rate in Ste. Genevieve County 44.1 percent.
