Survived By:
Three daughters, Laura Pruneau (Darren) Fallert, Mary Kathryn “Katie” Fisher (Joe Bauman), and Hannah (Samuel Ha) Fisher-Forman; Three brothers, Daniel (Dorothy) Holst, James Holst, and Robert (Carol) Holst; One sister, Charlene (Frank) Wilson; Grandchildren Gabriel, Cole, and Avery; Baby Forman-Ha on the way; and her beloved dog Rosie and baby kitties.
Preceded in Death By:
Daughter, Rebecca Stacey House; Mother Mary E. “Patsy” (Donnelly) Holst and Father Harley W. Holst; and many beloved pets over the years.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 2 pm to 6 pm at Basler Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will take place at 6:00 pm at Basler Funeral Home
A private burial service will be held at a later date.
She was a member of several charitable organizations and always supported any good cause in any way she could.
Barbara Jeanne Fisher, was always there. There for everyone who needed anything. There for her mother and father, there for her daughters, there for her grandchildren, there for anyone who needed a helping hand, just because she had a kind, loving, and warm heart and loved giving to others. Her daughters and their partners, brothers and sister, and grandchildren and all of her family members are deeply saddened by her tragic death, but are also very grateful for what she gave them during her life. They’re grateful for being taught by Barbara to care for others, to get a good education and share their special talents in service to others, to love and care for pets, to live life to the fullest, to fight for what’s right, to root for the underdog, to admire self-made men and women, to follow their dreams, to laugh at adversity, and to delight in family, friends, and good food. In short, her family is just grateful to have shared life with her and been touched by her great love. Barbara was so much fun, too. Extremely intelligent and witty, she came up with the most hilarious remarks and shared many humorous anecdotes that made her daughters and other family members roll in peals of laughter. Always the life of the party, she lived life her way and to the hilt all the way to the very end. Toward the end of her life, Barbara lived by modest means. But you’d never believe she wasn’t sitting on a million bucks at any given time, according to the lifestyle choices that she somehow managed to pull off. Always Land O Lakes butter, Edy’s Grand ice cream, subscriptions to the best newspapers in the world, fine-looking clothes, the best hair salons, and, finally, always remember to ask yourself, “but is it Oberle Meats???” Barbara derived much pleasure from showing love to her precious grandchildren, of whom she was so proud, as well as her hobbies of following the news, particularly on politics and medicine. In talking with her, there was never any need for learning the news any further as she provided comprehensive updates on every world, nation, state, and local news item, just in everyday conversation. Furthermore, she could diagnose any medical condition, lay out your treatment options, and get you into the best hospital for your conditions on a dime. Barbara will be so dearly missed, her memory forever treasured, and her legacy never rivaled. She was a one-of-a-kind beautiful, beloved person.
