Two hurt in fiery I-55 crash in Ste. Genevieve County

JEFFERSON CITY — Two persons suffered minor injuries in a fiery traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County Tuesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 22-year-old Armony Warren and a two-year-old female, both from St. Louis, were taken to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

The patrol says the single vehicle crash happened when a southbound 2002 Ford Expedition driven by 34-year-old Maurice K. Rhodes of St. Louis, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a rock bluff and caught on fire.

The patrol says the driver and Warren were buckled up, but the child was not in a safety device.

The crash happened about 8:47 a.m. at the 163.4 mile marker.

The patrol says the Expedition was a total loss.
