JACKSON  –  Saxony Lutheran fell to Affton last night in St. Louis in the Class 2 District 1 chmpionship game. The Crusaders end the season with a 9-11 record.

 

Football

 

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent plays Russellville in the Class 1 District round one Friday. Hear the game on Classic Country 980 a.m. and 105.3 f.m.

 

Russellville defeated Fayette 32-28 Friday night.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Third seed Ste. Genevieve will play second seed Dexter in the semifinal round of the Class 3 District 1 Tournament at Dexter. Hear the game on Classic Rock 93.1 FM.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle plays Caruthersville in the Class 2 State Tournament Friday.

 

Caruthersville defeated Kelly 49-7 Friday night.

 

Cross Country

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Valle Catholic boys have qualified for Class 1 state as a team. Team members are: Dominic Griffard, Truman Tucker, Garrett Short, Austin Ringwald, Thomas Varga, James Braun, and Oliver Griffard.

 

Madelyn Griffard finished first for the second year in a row and will move on to the Class 2 state meet as an individual.

 

The state meet is in Gans Creek in Columbia at 9 a.m. for the boys and noon for the girls.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Three girls will be representing Ste. Genevieve High School at the Class 3 state meet: Hollyn Zangaro, Kayden Huck and Laurie Parker. They will be running on Saturday at Gans Creek Recreational Area in Columbia.

 

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran is sending two girls to the Class 2 state cross country meet November 3 and 4 at Gans Creek in Columbia: Faith Dreyer and Myra Roth. 

 

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent came in third and qualified as a team in the boys Class 2 state cross country meet. The team members are Carter Hennemann who came third at the district meet and Jackso n Unterreiner, who came in fifth. Other members of the team are Ethan Hotop, Braden Pech, Noah Winschel and Jake Layton.

 

Two members of the St. Vincent girls team qualified for state: Abby Kirn, who finished in 17th place in the Class 1 district meet and Reagan Meyer who came in 18th at the district meet.

 

Both the boys and the girls will race at Gans Creek.
