Girls’ Volleyball
JACKSON – Second seed Saxony Lutheran lost to Ursuline Academy three sets to one, 25-21, 22-25, 21-25 and 22-25, in the Class 3 State Tournament held at Saxony Lutheran Saturday.
The Crusaders end the season with a 25-8-2 record.
Varsity football
STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve defeated Fredericktown 48-6 in the Class 3 District 1 Tournament.
“The Varsity Dragons got it done, in the rain, the first week of District playoffs. They beat the Fredericktown Blackcats 48-6 advancing to the semi-finals next Friday at Dexter. Way to go, Dragons!”
CHESTER – Chester lost at Red Bud 7-0 in Round 1 of the Illinois playoffs.
“It rained the entire first half. Wind, temps dropped 20 degrees Score was 0-0 until the final 33- seconds when Red Bud scored.”
CHS is eliminated from the 2023 IHSA Class 2A State Football Playoffs
PERRYVILLE – Perryville fell to Sikeston 36-14 in Round 1 of Class 4 District 1 played at Perryville.
The loss ends the Pirates season at 4-6.
STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle plays Caruthersville in the Class 2 State Tournament Friday.
Caruthersville defeated Kelly 49-7 Friday night.
PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent plays Russellville in the Class 1 District round one Friday.
Russellville defeated Fayette 32-28 Friday night.
