JEFFERSON CITY — The unemployment rate is down in Perry and Ste. Genevieve Counties.
The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development has released the October 2021 unemployment rates.
Perry County’s jobless rate has fallen 0.3 percent in the past year, from 2.4 percent in October 2020 to 2.1 percent in October 2021. The rate had been 1.9 percent in September 2021.
Ste. Genevieve County’s unemployment rate fell 0.8 percent between October 2020 and October 2021 from 3.1 to 2.3 percent. The rate had been 2.0 in September 2021.
Unemployment rates for surrounding counties:
Jefferson: 2.7 percent in October 2021, down from 3.9 in October 2020.
St. Francois: 3.2, down from 4.6 percent.
Bollinger: 2.8, down from 3.6 percent.
Cape Girardeau: 2.5, down from 3.2 percent.
Missouri: 2.8, down from 3.6 percent.
U.S.: 4.3, down from 6.6 percent.
