Bruce H. Thies

A funeral will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021 for 63-year-old Bruce H. Thies of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 7:18 am, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born April 30, 1958 in Chester, Illinois, the son of Harold Thies, who survives in Red and and Lillian (nee Valleroy) Thies who preceded him in death.

Bruce married Rosalyn Salger on June 20, 1981 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois; she survives in Red Bud.

He is also survived by a daughter: Bethany (Patrick) Grandt of Columbia, Ill.; three siblings: Phyllis (Robert) Grohmann, Larry (Lori) Thies and Tim Thies, all of Red Bud; three grandchildren: Kaylee, Alexis and Collin Grandt; five siblings-in-law: JoAnn Kadlec, Fred E. (Kathleen) Salger, Carol (Albert) Siegfried, Wesley (Brenda) Salger and Leonard Salger all of Red Bud; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

He was also preceded in death by: his in-laws: Friedrich and Anita Salger; brother-in-law: Joe Kadlec and a sister-in-law: Deb Salger.

He had worked at North Towne Foods in Red Bud, Illinois and Mad Pricer in Sparta, Illinois.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois.

Bruce enjoyed putting together puzzles, playing UNO Attack with his grandchildren, doing scratch-off lottery tickets, going on vacation and working in his yard. Bruce and Rosalyn enjoyed going out to eat with friends and playing cards.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud, Illinois and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois.

A funeral service for 63-year-old Bruce H. Thies of Red Bud, Illinois, will be held at 11 a.m, Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois, with the Rev. Scott Hojnacki.

Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois
