Baton Rouge man tapped as Ste. Genevieve’s next Tourism Director

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve City Administrator Happy Welch announced Monday morning that David Aaron Smith of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has been selected as the city’s new Tourism Marketing Director.

In a news release, Happy explained that, “Aaron is a content creator/artist/small business owner with an MBA concentration in marketing he will receive in December.  He was the founding director of Villa Anita Inc. in Tecopa, Calif., owner of Art to Geaux in Baton Rouge, and currently is the Material Planner for the Shaw Group.”

His content creation experience revolves around Villa Anita and Art to Geaux and he wants to bring those talents along with his business experience to guide the tourism department for Ste. Genevieve City/County from social media, to traditional advertising, to budget oversight.

Aaron has family in the area and is looking forward to becoming a part of the Ste. Genevieve area community.

“We think he has the skills, abilities, and background to lead the Ste. Genevieve Tourism Department,” Welch said.  “His interpersonal skills, social media content creation, and understanding of business management will best guide Ste. Genevieve in its marketing efforts.”

Aaron starts Monday, December 4, 2023 at the temporary city hall, 44 Plaza Dr.
