Golf
STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve High School girls golf team came in eighth place at the Westminster Cat Scratch Scramble Friday. The SGHS score was not released.
Karlie Basler and Eleanor McKlin (AKA Team Big Red) placed 14th with an 80 year-old medal.
The Valle golf team was also scheduled to play in the Westminster Tournament but their results were not released.
Next up for Ste. Genevieve: a home match with Cape Central, St. Pius, and Poplar Bluff at 3 p.m. today.
CHESTER – Chester will be represented by Camryn Luthy and Macy Bert at the 2023 IHSA Class 1A Sectional Golf Tournament.
Camryn Luthy and Macy Bert of the Chester High School Lady Jackets qualified to advance to the 2023 IHSA Class 1A Sectional Golf Tournament. Luthy shot 90 and Bert shot 105 in the Carterville Class 1A Regional to qualify to advance to the Sectional Match. The 2023 IHSA Class 1A Sectional Golf Tournament will be hosted by Roxana at the Belk Park Golf Course in Wood River, Illinois.
Players from the Carterville, Alton, Mt. Sterling, and Auburn Regionals will converge at Wood River to determine who will advance to the 2023 IHSA Class 1A State Golf Tournament. Tee-Off time is 9 A.M.
The 2023 IHSA Class 1A State Golf Tournament will be held Friday and Saturday October 6-7, 2023 at the Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur, Illinois. The course is managed by the Decatur Park District.

PERRYVILLE – Perryville, St. Vincent, Saxony Lutheran, Ste. Genevieve and Valle ran at the Notre Dame Invitational Saturday.
Perryville came in fourth in the boys race (119), Valle came in ninth (236), Saxony Lutheran came in 16th (382),
