August ozone readings remain within limits

PERRYVILLE – The Southeast Regional Planning Commission has released the August 2023 ozone readings.

Environmental Planner Alexandra Rios says the month of August saw averages of 41 ppb (Bonne Terre) and 42 ppb (Farrar).

“There were no exceedances recorded this past month with the highest recorded reading being 51 ppb (Bonne Terre) and 54 ppb (Farrar),” he said.

“These readings are slightly lower than that of July, which saw averages of 48 ppb (Bonne Terre) and 50 ppb (Farrar), whereas the highs recorded were 61 ppb (Bonne Terre) and 62 ppb ( Farrar), “ Rios continued. “Overall, the air quality at both monitoring stations was within the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), indicating good and moderate air quality.”
