A funeral will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 for 74-year-old James “Jim” Edward Wibbenmeyer of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
He was born March 16, 1949 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. to Cletus and Lorena ( Richardet) Wibbenmeyer.
Jim and Faye Marie Gibbar were married on April 18, 1970.
He served in the United States Army.
He was a building inspector for the City of Perryville.
Jim was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 3rd degree Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion Post #133.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry and helping others with projects. He loved teaching and sharing his knowledge with everyone. Most of all, he lived for his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Neil (Brandy ) Wibbenmeyer of Jackson, Mo.; daughter, Lisa (Erin) Carroll of Perryville, Mo.; brother, Doug Wibbenmeyer of Perryville, Mo.; two sisters, Glenda (Robert) Begeske of Chicago, Ill., Marsha Lintner of Perryville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Lucus Carroll, Nathan Carroll, Corin Carroll, Taylor Quade, Parker Quade, Tessa Quade.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Wibbenmeyer; sister, Karen Wibbenmeyer.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville. Visitation will continue from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Friday, August 18, 2023 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic in Perryville with Fr. Ben Melaku C.M. officiating..
Inturnment will be at Mary Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Kidney Foundation or Regional Family Crisis Center.
