STE GENEVIEVE — The cost of paying utility bills to the city of Ste. Genevieve is going up.
According to a city hall post on social media front desk customers will see an increase in their payment fees due to a mandated switchover by the city’s utility billing software company. Those payments will now be processed by a gWorks billing solution.
Utility billing customers who pay using the payment portal, Front Desk, or have an ACH transaction set up will be affected by the change.
Beginning with the new bills that were mailed out July 26, the new fees will go into effect for customers that use Front Desk.
The city is allowing a three-day grace period for ALL bills due on August 15.
The new bills will be due on August 18, with NO late fee, because City Hall will be closed on August 15 to move furniture to our temporary location at 44 Plaza Drive during the remodeling of our main offices.
The new fees for Front Desk payments are listed below:
*Credit/Debit Card processing 2.49% + $1.00 per transaction, with a $2.00 minimum
*eCheck processing will increase to $1.30 per transaction up to $50,000, then $3.00 per transaction greater than $50,000
