Perry County Sheriff’s Office reports storm damage

PERRYVILLE — The Perry County Sheriff’s Office reported that at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon July 1, a line of strong storms passed through the eastern part of Perry County, damaging a pavilion, uprooting several trees and downing a power line.

No significant damage or injures were reported.

While the county received much needed rain, residents were told stay alert for additional storms in the evening.

The sheriff’s office thanked Citizens Electric Corporation for a quick response and to the Frohna-

Altenburg Fire Department-Friends for assessment and debris cleanup.

While the rains were heavy in areas, the sheriff’s office said it was not enough to prompt a lifting of the Perry County burning and fireworks ban.
