A funeral will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023 for 91-year-old Marilyn M. Burgert of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at Ste. Genevieve Care Center in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
She was born May 27, 1932 in Weingarten, Mo.
She married John Burgert February 14, 1953. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters: Rebecca “Becky” (Kenneth) Fernandez of Hernando, Miss., and Elizabeth “Liz” (Thomas) Kertz of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; three grandsons: Ryan Renna, Eric Renna, and Bryan (Hannah) Kertz; granddaughter: Allison (Kurt) Palos; three sisters: Julietta “Tootie” Flieg of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Shirley Kern of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., and Mary (Stanley) Hurst of Saint Mary, Mo.; a brother: Tony (Betty) Ritter of Ozora, Mo.; great grandchildren: John and Harrison Palos and Miriam Kertz.
She was also preceded in death by her father: Harry Ritter; her mother: Irma Ritter; and two brothers-in-law: Glennon “Bootie” Flieg and Gus Kern.
She was a member of Ste. Genevieve Golf Club, and a Girl Scout Leader for Troop 3122.
Marilyn loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She loved to garden, golf, and play cards with family and friends, most importantly, the last two years she became a part of a special family at the Ste. Genevieve Care Center, a place where she called home.
Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
A funeral for 91-year-old Marilyn M. Burgert of Sainte Genevieve will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Edward Nemeth will officiate.
Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the Ste. Genevieve Care Center Activities Fund.
