Herman ‘Hilton’ J. Kist

There will be no funeral for 85-year-old Herman “Hilton” J. Kist of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Riverview at the Park in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.

 

He was born March 30, 1938 in River Aux Vases, Mo.

 

He married Sandra (Cohran) Kist in February of 2000, in Tampa, Florida. She survives in Ste. Genevieve.

 

He is also survived by his daughters: Sharon (David) Taylor of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Melanie Comentino of the state of Florida, and Charlotte (Roger) East of the state of Minnesota; a son: Christopher (Lisa) Kist of the state of Missouri; a daughter-in-law: Janet Kist; a sister: Modesta (Vince) Valle-Weiler; a sister-in-law Bernita Kist; many grandchildren and great-Grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by: his mother: Anna Josephine (Schweiss) Kist; his father: Benjamin Bernard Kist; a son: Dan Kist; brothers: Norbert Kist, Welton (Rita) Kist, Earnest (Irma) Kist, Irvin Kist, Cletus Kist; sisters: Hildegard (Herman) Joggerst, Dottie (Joe) Eisenbeis, and Rita (Pat) Tucker.

 

Herman attended Valle and graduated from Sainte Genevieve High School and was a member of FGBMFI.

 

Hilton lived a fulfilling life as a father, brother, and friend.

 

He loved music, singing, and playing his accordion, guitar, organ, keyboard, and piano. He was a part of many bands, church choirs and was a gospel singer. Hilton volunteered his musical talent to local nursing homes and senior centers under www.hiltonkist.com.

 

He enjoyed Cardinal baseball games, reading, Sunday family dinners, washers, horse shoes, and ping pong.
