Woman charged with attempted stealing, property damage at Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial

PERRYVILLE — The Perryville Police Department has released its latest reports.

 

40-year-old Mary E. Bartolo was charged with property damage and attempted stealing in connection with property damage at the Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial at 8:57 a.m. May 30.

 

The executive director of the Memorial, Rae Lynn Munoz said the incident happened about 7:17 a.m. Sunday, May 28.

 

She said the suspect attempted to break into a donation box containing cash and checks. While she was able to damage the box, the woman was unable to take any of the money inside. Munoz said the police officers recognized the woman on the Memorial’s security video.

 

Munoz said the woman has been barred from the Memorial’s property.

52-year-old Karen Renee Rose was arrested at 10:42 a.m. May 30th in the 1,000 block of Old St. Mary’s Road on a fugitive warrant out of Ste. Genevieve County. Police say the arrest came after an officer on patrol came upon the suspect who was slumped over in a parked vehicle with the door open.

 

Police took a report of a hit and run traffic crash with property damage exceeding $1,000 at 7 a.m. May 22nd in the 1600 block of Redwing Court.

Officers responded to the city park at 4:16 p.m. May 30 by a report of a restroom filled with smoke.
