STE, GENEVIEVE – From April 6 to April 20, Ste. Genevieve High School welcomed six students from France, as well as their adult chaperones. The students stayed with SGHS host families and shadowed their American peers around school and in their classes.
This is the fourth year that SGHS has hosted students through an exchange program called FACES. Other schools in this area, including Lindbergh High School, Ladue Horton Watkins High School, and Maple-Richmond Heights High School also hosted students through the program. Altogether, there were 29 students from Annecy, France.
“I was so excited in 2017 when we first made the connection to this program!” French teacher Bre Uzzell said. “Since then, our partner schools here in the area have changed, but it is so good to be able to work together with other French language programs to bring our students just a little closer to French language and culture. These kids make lifelong friends, and this year, some are already planning their trips to France!”
