Teen-aged girl receives minor injuries in Route C crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A 17-year-old Ste. Genevieve girl received minor injuries in a traffic crash on Route C in Ste. Genevieve County Tuesday morning.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the girl, whose name was not released because of her age, was the driver of a northbound 2007 Ford Fusion.

The patrol says the girl failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the roadway.

The patrol says she then over-corrected, crossed the centerline, and ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The patrol says she was taken to Parkland Health South by Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance.

The patrol says she was buckled up. The Fusion was a total loss.

The crash happened about 7:35 a.m. in the 4900 block of Route C.
