August Palmer is Valle’s Elks Student of the Month for May

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Elks student of the month for May from Valle High School is August Palmer,

He is the son of William and Veronica Palmer.

 

August has been in the Top 10 of his class throughout high school and has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years.

 

August has performed lead roles with the Valle Drama Club all four years, serving as President his junior/senior years. He was a four year member of the Academic team and Captain this past year.

 

He served as the volleyball manager for four years, also playing basketball two years, and football one year. He was a track team thrower for four years, earning both academic all-state and a sectional qualifier. Other school activities include cheer, dance team, student ambassador, student council, and choreographer for school spirit.

 

He received first place in the American Legion Voice of Democracy contest this year and was previously awarded the Forever a Warrior scholarship. August also holds the rank of life scout and is an Order of the Arrow recipient.

 

He has worked at Sara’s Ice Cream throughout high school and has volunteered several times as a peer buddy at Camp Circle Star for special needs students. August is a lover of the Arts and has participated in assorted community theater productions.

 

He has won local awards from the Ste Genevieve Women’s Club for writing and both Ste Genevieve Art Guild and Plein Aire events for his Art. After a competitive audition process,

 

August has been accepted into Western Michigan University and will be pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theater Performance.
