COVID-19 surge coming?

JEFFERSON CITY — There seems to be the start of another surge of COVID-19 cases in Missouri.

The average number of cases per day has risen above 1,000 according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

It had been down to 748 as recently as November 7th, but each day since it has been above 1,000, nearing 2,000 on November 8th.

For the seven day period ending November 11th, the total is 8,753.

The case total for Missouri since the pandemic began is 871,996. There have been 12,344 deaths.

Locally Perry County has the fourth highest number of cases per 100,000 population.

There were 45 confirmed and probable cases in Perry County for the seven days ending November 11th for a daily average of 6.4.

Ste. Genevieve County ranks 36th in the number of cases per 100,000 population. 

There were eight confirmed and probable cases in Ste. Genevieveve County for the same period, a daily average of 1.1.
