JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services continues to report a higher number of COVID-19 cases in Perry County than in Ste. Genevieve County — 42 in the seven days ending Nov. 9 for Perry County and 10 for Ste. Genevieve during the same seven days.
There were no new deaths in either county in the seven days ending November 9.
The department reports Perry County had a daily average of six while Ste. Genevieve County had a daily average of 1.6
There were seven new cases November 3 in Perry County: eight November 4, six November 5, four November 6, four November 7, five November 8 and eight November 9.
Since the pandemic began there have been a total of 3,282 confirmed and probable cases and a death toll of 33.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports 40 percent of Perry County residents are fully vaccinated.
The Perry County Health Department has scheduled a Moderna COVID-19 vaccination clinic Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with walk ins welcomed at the office at 406 Spring Street in Perryville. The Moderna vaccine is also available on Mondays by appointment.

There was no word on when or if the Perry County Health Department would offer the Pfizer shot for children aged 5-11.
The Department reports Ste. Genevieve County has now had a total of 2,431 confirmed and probable cases and 29 confirmed deaths since the pandemic began in March 2020.
There were two new cases November 3, two November 4, two November 5, none November 6, none November 7, three November 8 and one November 9.
The Department reports 46.7 percent of the Ste. Genevieve County population is fully vaccinated.

Ste. Genevieve County Health Department will be holding a special clinic for children ages 5-11 to give Pfizer’s Pediatric COVID-19 vaccine. Appointments are required, call 573 883 7411. The clinic will be held November 18th and 19th in the lower level of the health department at 115 Basler Drive in Ste. Genevieve.
The Department reports 8,277 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 statewide during the seven days ending November 9. That’s an average of 1,183 new cases a day. The state also reported 14 deaths during the same period.
That brings the statewide total to 869, 288 cases with 12,336 deaths. The Department reports 50 percent of the state’s eligible population are fully vaccinated.
