Wilfred Charles Figge, 85, of Pevely died March 21, 2023, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County.
Mr. Figge was a retired General Motors autoworker and Chevy driver, and worked at Andy’s Produce in House Springs, where he was affectionately known as the water boy.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and enjoyed hunting, fishing and working the chains at football games with his grandsons, Chico and Vito.
He was always smiling, never had a bad word to say about anyone and believed in the power of prayer.
Born Nov. 1, 1937, in Ste. Genevieve, he was the son of the late Rose (Pfaff) and Xavier Figge.
He is survived by his wife: Wanda (Mattingly) Figge of Pevely; four sons: Robert Figge of Hillsboro, Joseph Figge of Pevely, Richard (Angie) Figge of De Soto and Steven Figge of Dittmer; two daughters: Cheryl (Don) Blumm of Dittmer and Donna (Andy) Orlando of Hillsboro; two sisters: Rosella (the late Eddie) Otte of Ozora and Betty (Merlin) Moonier; a brother: Ernie (the late Judy) Figge of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren: Ashley, Nicole, Robert Jr., Ryan, Richard II, Frankie, Joseph, Frank, Chico, Cheryl and Vito; and eight great-grandchildren: Scarlet, Richard III, Frankie Jr., Arlo, Vince, Ace, Adrianna and Nico, with another on the way.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Mary Figge; and four siblings: Dorothy Friedman, Donald Figge, Norman (Helen) Figge and Lucille (Dale) Moonier.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely.
A funeral service will he held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the funeral home, officiated by Father Mathew Cheruparambil.
Burial is in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pevely.
