Marion, Ill. man hurt in traffic crash during police chase in Mo

JEFFERSON CITY — A 59-year-old Marion, Illinois man suffered moderate injuries in a traffic crash Friday morning in Perry County, Missouri during a police chase.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Richard D. Mulholland was taken to Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville by a Perry County ambulance.

 

The patrol says Mulholland was the driver of a southbound 1997 Chevrolet GMT-400 pick up which was being pursued by police vehicles when it struck a southbound 2015 Ford Taurus driven by Steven M. Laramore of Chester. Laramore was buckled up and was not hurt.

 

The Taurus was forced off the road by the impact, but Laramore drove back on to the roadway and forced the Mulholland vehicle to stop.

 

The patrol says Mulholland was not buckled up.

 

The patrol says the crash happened about 9:08 a.m. on Highway 51 just south of Perry County Road 210.
