Illinois engineers applaud U.S. House passage of federal infrastructure bill

SPRINGFIELD – The American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois (ACEC-IL) released the following statement regarding the U.S. House of Representatives passage of the federal Infrastructure bill:

“With this once-in-a-generation investment, we will improve municipal water systems to ensure safe, clean drinking water for our people, repair and modernize our roads and bridges to keep our markets competitive in the global economy, and build better access to transit and passenger rail so workers have access to more and better jobs,” said Kevin Artl, president and CEO of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois. “The American Council of engineering Companies of Illinois and our members around the state applaud the U.S. House of Representatives for joining a bipartisan majority in the U.S. Senate to prioritize critical improvements to our nation’s physical infrastructure. Once law, these investments will create good-paying jobs for American workers, boost economic development in our communities, and position the United States, and Illinois in particular to be the world’s infrastructure leader once again.”
