CHESTER — The Chester Fire Department was called to the scene of an automobile accident Wednesday February 1, 2023.
The call was received at 2:31 p.m., to Illinois Rt.150 East at Chester Road in Bremen, Illinois for a single vehicle roll-over with possible entrapment.
According to Chester Fire Chief, Marty Bert, when the CFD arrived at the scene, it was noted that the vehicle was a black pickup truck that had a female driver and one passenger.
One occupant had been ejected from the vehicle and the other was still in the rolled over vehicle.
According to Randolph County Sheriff, Jarrod Peters, the scene was handled by the Illinois State Police.
According the Fire Chief Bert, the Chester Fire Department did not have to extricate the occupant still in the vehicle, but did need assist ambulance personnel in removing the injured occupant from the truck and transferring that individual to a waiting ambulance.
Fire Department personnel also assisted in preparing for and directing the landing of an emergency helicopter that was dispatched to transport the occupant that had been ejected from the rolled over truck.
According Chief Bert one victim was flown to Carbondale Memorial Hospital while the other was taken by ambulance to Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

The accident had traffic on Rt. 150 closed and detoured until the scene was cleared.
