Council members elected for Ste. Genevieve County Extension

STE. GENEVIEVE, MO — University of Missouri Extension is proud to announce that three Ste. Genevieve County residents were successful in their bid for election to the Ste. Genevieve County Extension Council. Elected were Mike Kertz, Jr., Missy Marberry, and Jean Werner.

 

Council elections were held during the week of January 15-21. A ballot box was available at the Extension office, and voting could be done online. All newly elected Council members will be sworn in during the month of February. The two-year term of office begins March 1.

 

County Extension councils, in accordance with state law, work with University of Missouri Extension faculty and staff in planning and carrying out local Extension programs. The Council has three primary responsibilities: assist in planning and carrying out extension programs in their county; oversee the finances; and recruit and train Council members.

 

University of Missouri Extension provides research-based educational programs, assistance and resources that address subjects of interest to Missourians in the fields of agriculture; business development; community development; food and nutrition; and youth development (4-H).
