St. Vincent de Paul requires proof of residency

STE. GENEVIEVE – The St. Vincent de Paul in Ste. Genevieve has announced patrons will need to bring three items of mail with their current address each time you visit to pick up food.

So, if you plan on going to the St. Vincent de Paul (Ste. Genevieve) food pantry this Thursday (or any Thursday), please remember to bring along PROOF OF RESIDENCE.

This can be any piece of mail (utility bill, junk mail, etc….), as long as it contains your current address, and shows your name at that address.

No, they do not take drivers’ licenses, because they can be good for several years, and you could have moved addresses in that period of time. They need a “current” address to prove you live at the address you tell them.

Sorry, but this is the only way St. Vincent de Paul can keep their records straight and ensure that you receive the proper amount of food, by determining your address and the number of people living at that address.

Patrons will need to bring this proof “every time” you come to the pantry, not just the first time.

The St. Vincent de Paul gives out food to those in need on Thursdays, from 9-11a.m., at 320 Jefferson Street, in Ste. Genevieve.
