SGCMH welcomes first babies of 2023

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. – It’s a boy and a girl! Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) is pleased to announce its first babies born for the New Year. Two moms that delivered so close in time that hospital officials are announcing both babies as ‘first’.

 

Both were delivered on January 4 just minutes apart. Baby boy Beau Arvel delivered at 8:24 a.m. and baby girl Nova Grace delivered at 8:35 a.m.

 

It was an exciting moment for both deliveries.

 

Baby boy, Beau was delivered by Dr. Maryam Baikpour weighing 7 lbs. and 1 oz. The parents, Korrina and Andrew Laut from Fredricktown, Mo. were beyond thrilled about their new baby boy being the first of the New Year at the hospital.

“It was a nice surprise for us along with the wonderful care and attention,” said Korrina. “It was our first experience at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital and it has been great.”

 

They were also excited about going home to see how baby Beau will be greeted by his two siblings, sister Andie, 6 and brother, Duke 4.

 

Baby girl Nova Grace was delivered by Dr. Hannah Kertz weighing 5 lbs and 14 oz. Her parents Hanna Christisen and Jovi Wheeler of Perryville, Mo. were equally excited to hear they would be part of the promotion.

 

The second family was elated that everything went well with the delivery of Nova Grace.

“The process went so smoothly and the excitement continued after learning we would be included in the New Year Baby promotion,” said Hanna. “We’re overjoyed with all the love and special care.”
