Perry County MU Extension offers ‘Stay Strong, Stay Healthy’ classes

PERRYVILLE — The Perry County University of Missouri Extension Center is hosting two eight-week strength training programs, “Stay Strong, Stay Healthy-Level 1” and an advanced “Stay Strong, Stay Healthy-Level 2” for middle-aged and older adults.

These programs are built on simple strength building exercises that will improve balance, health, and state of mind. No, they are not strenuous weight lifting; you will start at a level that is right for you. No one is too inactive to participate. Building strength promotes quality of life and independence, especially for adults over 50.

These programs will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Level 1 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. and Level 2 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., beginning on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 and continuing through Thursday, March 23, 2023. Participation in Level 2 requires instructor approval.

Classes will be held at the Perryville United Methodist Church located at 314 W North Street in Perryville. Registration deadline is January 13, 2023. Space is limited.

These classes are FREE to Perry County residents age 55 and older. To register or for additional information, please call the Perry County Extension Center at (573) 547-4504 or e-mail: perryco@missouri.edu.

Classes are sponsored by the Perry County Senior Tax Commission and the Perry County Extension Council.
