Missouri Lottery supports nationwide campaign to promote responsible gifting this holiday season

JEFFERSON CITY — The Missouri Lottery offers many fun and entertaining products, but these games are only appropriate gifts for adults. They should not be gifted to minors.

“Lottery tickets make great gifts, so have fun and share them with the adults on your holiday shopping list,” said Lester Elder, the Missouri Lottery’s new executive director. “Just remember the legal age to purchase and play the Lottery in Missouri is 18 years or older.”

The Missouri Lottery’s responsible gifting effort is in collaboration with the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and the International Centre for Youth Gambling Problems and High-Risk Behaviors at McGill University. This nationwide campaign raises awareness about the effects of gifting Lottery products to underage children and encourages individuals to gift responsibly during the festive season.

The Missouri Lottery includes minimum age to play messaging on all Lottery products and dispensers and includes a series of responsible gifting posts on its social media channels.
