Perryville man unhurt in early morning I-55 crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A 48-year-old Perryville man escaped injury in a traffic crash Wednesday morning on I-55 in Jefferson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports John T. Bishop was the driver of a southbound 1978 Ford F150 Ranger which struck a 2015 Honda CRV which was roadside facing the wrong direction after being involved in an earlier traffic crash.

The driver of the car, 73-year-old Terrence I. Ruck of Bismarck, was standing next to the vehicle and was seriously injured when the Ranger struck the door of the Honda and the door hit Ruck. He was taken to Mercy Hospital South by ambulance.

After the impact both vehicles travelled off the left side of the roadway into the cable barrier.

The crash happened about 12:15 a.m. south of McNutt Street.

The patrol says both drivers were buckled up.
